C3 Pluriel, convertible top : a frame of mind...
Presentation
Released in May 2003, the C3 Pluriel stands out with its inimitable exterior and interior styling and its panoramic roof.
Like the C3 and C2, it sports a new dashboard with a modern and refined design that confirms the vehicle’s place at the
top of the supermini segment. Furthermore, all versions of the C3 Pluriel now come with the unique dark-grey interior
design scheme (Tramontane) for the upper parts of the vehicle, including the inside of the sunroof, the wood trim on the
arches, and the upholstery on the windscreen pillar and cross-members. These additions help to enhance the stylish look
of the passenger compartment.
The C3 Pluriel comes with a range of different trims and interior design schemes. One features seats in leisure “3D” fabric
and another focuses on leather, bringing elegance and comfort to the passenger compartment. The Aluminium pack, combined
with the "Leather" pack and available with all exterior colours, sets off the exterior styling with aluminium-grey door
handles and arches, bumper strips and side mouldings.

Style
The free-flowing fluid lines and generous interior space give the C3 Pluriel a distinct style that subtly reflects
its C3 family relationship, at the same time as giving it a strong personality of its own and a completely unique
body configuration.
The moulded front and rear protective sections suggest the world of the RV.
The headlamps are set very high on the wings, and their characteristic teardrop shape gives the C3 Pluriel a decidedly
funky look.
The largely aluminium rear lamp cluster is instantly recognisable, conveying shape and personality.
The highly original integrated “drops of light” indicators underline the unique character of the vehicle and the immense
care taken in the design of every detail.
The elegant curve of the arched pillars enhances the glazing and uses no central pillar. The result is an enormous feeling
of space inside the vehicle and superb visibility, front, side and rear.
Depending on the external colour selected, the arched pillars are finished either in light grey (Aluminium) or dark
grey (Fulminator). This two-tone treatment of the bodyshell and pillars emphasizes the unique volumes of the C3 Pluriel
and makes it even more accessible. The C3 Pluriel is also distinctive in terms of its proportions, especially its height,
which, at 1.56 m, is 3 centimetres more than the C3.
Its length (3.93 m) and width (1.70 m) place it firmly at the top of its category.
Comfort et security
- The Leather Pack
The Leather Pack gives the C3 Pluriel interior a contemporary and sophisticated feel. It includes :
- grey Tramontane leather trim for the centre panels of the seat cushions and backs, with Colorado orange for the tops of the seat backs;
- Colorado orange leather finish for the wishbones (armrests and grab handles);
- black leather steering wheel grip;
- front seat backs finished in grey Tramontane, with Colorado orange storage nets;
- on-board computer;
- special instrument face design;
- special front overmats with orange binding.
For even greater comfort, this pack also includes electrically-powered retractable heated mirrors and electric passenger seat adjustment.
- Reinforced bodyshell
The C3 Pluriel meets all the criteria set by the German TÜV test standard, currently the most stringent vehicle
rollover strength test. Providing this level of protection in spider configuration requires the use of large-diameter, thick-wall reinforced steel tubes located inside the windscreen pillars, seat back frames and rear head restraints. This integrated reinforcing tube is 40 mm in diameter and creates a virtually non-deformable rear platform.
The longitudinal roof arches extend this protection in cabriolet and saloon configurations. Containing a 55 mm diameter, 4 mm thick aluminium reinforcing tube along their full length, the arches and their structural mountings can resist lateral and compression loadings of several tonnes in the event of the car rolling over.
Central locking of the doors and tailgate, high-frequency remote control with transponder and automatic relocking of the vehicle in the event of error all help deliver maximum protection for the C3 Pluriel.
Engines
Petrol
- 1.6i 16V 110 hp DIN
- 1.4i 75 hp DIN
The latest generation 1.6i 16V engine delivers very lively performance, developing 80 kW EEC (110 hp DIN) at 5,750 rpm,
with maximum torque of 147 Nm delivered at 4,000 rpm.This engine delivers a level of performance and driving comfort exceptional in its class, whilst returning reasonable fuel consumption and emission levels. Specified in conjunction with SensoDrive gearbox, this dynamic engine responds eagerly to every demand.
The 1.4i range-entry engine delivers 54 kW EEC (75 hp DIN) at 5,400 rpm, with 118 Nm of torque at 3,300 rpm.
This engine achieves a highly successful compromise between driving comfort, fuel economy and environmental emissions. The carefully-chosen ratios offered by the associated manual gearbox make the 1.4i the ideal package for daily driving.
- HDi 70 hp DIN
The HDi 70 diesel engine delivers 50 kW at 4,000 rpm, and 150 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. This HDi engine is fitted
with a second generation Common Rail and is exceptionally economical and quiet, at the same time as delivering
excellent dynamic qualities, including impressive flexibility at slow speeds and relaxing performance on long
journeys.| C3 PLURIEL | PETROL | DIESEL HDi 70 | |
