Style et comfort

With its attractive curving lines and original styling, the Xsara Picasso is immediately identifiable with the Citroën brand.

Xsara Picasso This is a car that looks after all its occupants. Passenger comfort has always been one of the Xsara Picasso's key assets. With its roomy interior, flat floor pan and central walkway, as well as its modular design and three identically sized rear seats, the Xsara Picasso is clearly designed to make life onboard enjoyable for all the occupants.

The Xsara Picasso also stands as a reference in comfort and roadholding in the compact people-carrier segment. It is renowned for its chassis balance and roadholding.

Xsara Picasso The interior offers no less than eighteen innovative and practical stowage compartments, including the lower part of the console, the front and rear door bins, boxes placed under the floor at the back and a glove box that is bigger than those found on any other compact people-carrier...

The boot of the Xsara Picasso is not only the biggest in its category - 550 litres in volume and 90 cm under the parcel shelf - it is also the most practical.

Modubox
The functional and convenient design of the boot is illustrated by the Modubox. With this innovation, Citroën makes it easy to transport objects to or from the car. Easy to fold, easy to store, the Modubox clips onto the right-hand side of the boot.

Engines

From September and depending on the country, the Xsara Picasso will be available with a choice of two petrol engines: the new 110 bhp 1.6i 16V mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the 137 bhp 2.0i 16V with a sequentially controlled auto-adaptive automatic gearbox.

Concerning diesel engines, the acoustics of the 110 bhp 1.6 HDi model have been improved. An acoustic windscreen, new engine support couplings and new absorbent materials on the dashboard all optimise onboard acoustic comfort.

Petrol

  • 2.0i 16V 137 hp DIN

  • The 2.0i 16V engine associated with the autoactive gearbox is a marvel! The high engine torque, available even at low rpm, ensures that driving is smooth.
The 2.0i 16V offers 90 % of its maximum torque (190 Nm at 4100 rpm) at 2500 rpm and builds up to maximum 137 hp power at 6000 rpm. This power, coupled with sustained and rapid speed increase, means that driving the Xsara Picasso 2.0i 16V is not only sure, but also a real pleasure.

  • 1.6i 16V 110 hp DIN

  • The 1.6i 16V engine develops 80 kW EEC (110 bhp DIN) at 5,800 rpm and maximum torque of 147 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Highly responsive from the lowest engine speeds, this engine offers torque of 132 Nm -90% of the maximum amount - from 2,000 rpm. This mid-range engine strikes an excellent balance between performance and fuel consumption in combined use (7.1 l/100 km over a standard combined cycle).

Diesel
  • HDi 110 hp DIN

  • The Xsara Picasso HDi 110 develops 110 hp (80 kW) power at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 240 Nm at 1750 rpm. With its powerful new engine and its unladen weight of 1313 kg, the Xsara Picasso gives remarkable performance. For example, acceleration from 60 to 90 kph in 7 seconds in 4th gear. And acceleration from 80 to 120 kph in 10.7 seconds in 4th gear. The new HDi 110, "torque typed" engine provides smoothness, linear speed increase and good acceleration capacity at low rpm.
The engine's reactivity is amplified when fast accelerations are necessary. In this case the "overboost" function provides additional bursts of torque of up to 20 Nm.

  • HDi 90 hp DIN

  • The HDi 90 1997 cm3 engine with "Common Rail" high pressure direct Diesel injection (1350 bar) is supercharged without exchanger. The maximum power is 66 kW (90 hp) at 4000 rpm for a torque of 205 Nm at 1900 rpm.
